If every kid in America did this then we could prevent 30 billion pounds of greenhouse gas emissions and save enough energy to light 15 million homes for an entire year. That's like takin 14 million cars of the road! The CFL bulbs are a little more expensive than regular ones but over the lifetime of a CFL you'll save more than $30 on your energy bill.
4. Get Crafty--- Knit or crochet scarves for kids in Iraq
I didn't think it got cold in Irag but it does. Kids over their are facing extreme poverty and many of them freeze to death over the winter. You can help by making scarves for the children over their. The group that does this is called Beanies For Bagdad. They also support soilders and send other things to the children of Iraq.
